I was born in a log cabin in the middle of a 350 acre farm in Kentucky - No! Wait! That was Abraham Lincoln.
I
was born in The Bronx, NY and raised in Northern Westchester County on the east side of Hudson directly across the river from
Bear Mountain. One of my Grandfathers drove a tandem tractor trailer on long-hauls and the other spent most of his career
as an auto wholesaler on Jerome Avenue. My Dad followed into the auto business, owning an Oldsmobile franchise for 25
years He was also the first Subaru Dealer in NY State in 1968. My brother is still in the auto business.
After
attending college in Pennsylvania, I worked a variety of jobs starting in 1974, The jobs were to pay the bills while aspiring
to be the next great Rock and Roll star. You can see how well that worked out. I have always kept my hand
in the music world. Up until about 3 years ago I played piano and sang in a very successful R&B band, called JIGSAWW
based in Westchester. We played many of the top clubs in and around the NY City area including playing in the World
Trade Center early in 2001.
In 2005, after playing outdoors, at midnight on New Year's Eve
for the City of White Plains celebration, when my fingers were brittle and my ears numb, I began to have my doubts that fame
and fortune were on the horizon. I decided that anyone who is still playing Rock and Roll in their 50s needs to have a roadie.
So I dragged my stage piano home one late night and there it has stayed. I still teach piano one day a week at
the
Bethel Music Center run by my good friends, Bruce and Dana Treidel.
My business career, through the early 1990s
was in telecommunications sales, working for AT&T until 1992. Since then I held a variety of sales management and
sales training positions. Most recently, prior to moving into the Real Estate field I was VP of Sales for an online Compliance
Training Provider, WeComply.
In early 2007, much against the advice of nearly everyone I know I
moved into the Real Estate field full time when my wife, Shereen, and I moved to Bethel with our two dogs, Sasha and Smoochie.
The common verbiage from most people was "How can you go into this business when the
market is turning down?" Well - I've always like a challenge and I'm thrilled that I made the leap.
I
am, like most in the profession, eagerly awaiting the turn in the economy. In the meantime, I've done some business, learned
a great deal and met some of the best people ever in the form of my colleagues and my clients.
As
we look forward to the economy coming back in 2009, I'm prepared to keep doing what I've been doing for my 30+ years
in sales - It's what my Grandfather taught me - "Always do the right thing for the client - success will come,"
